Tasting notes
The 2016 Wilsford Merlot has lifted boysenberry fruit, toasty oak and nutmeg on the nose. It has very ripe and intense fruit of sweet plummy fruit, boysenberries, plum pudding with vanilla/chocolate overtones from the oak. This medium to full bodied wine is juicy, with a delightful creamy mouthfeel and typical soft Merlot tannins. The wine has softened and added some aged complexity. The berry fruit and savoury notes give the wine a long and appealing length.
